Welcome to Hidden Tracks Photography
I'm Penny Hegyi, a wildlife and nature photographer based in Lolo, Montana, where I'm fortunate to be surrounded by towering mountains, winding rivers, and dense forests that serve as both my backyard and my inspiration.

My passion lies in capturing the raw beauty and intimate moments of wildlife in their natural habitats. Whether I'm tracking grizzlies in remote wilderness areas, waiting patiently for the perfect light on a mountain peak, or documenting rare encounters with elusive species like snow leopards, my goal is to create images that tell a story and evoke emotion.

Mission
Through my photography, I aim to inspire a deeper appreciation for the natural world and advocate for wildlife conservation. I believe that when people connect with wildlife through powerful imagery, they're more likely to care about protecting these magnificent creatures and the landscapes they call home. Every photograph is an opportunity to raise awareness and encourage action toward preserving our planet's precious biodiversity.

Approach
I work with Nikon mirrorless cameras and lenses spending countless of hours in the field, often in challenging conditions, to capture authentic moments in nature. Patience, respect for wildlife, and a deep understanding of animal behavior are at the heart of my photography. I never bait or disturb animals for a shot—I believe the best images come from observing and waiting for natural behaviors to unfold.
